Summer is the perfect time for getting outdoors, going for an adventure, and scoring a great garage sale find. But it definitely can be overwhelming. I’ve got some great garage sale tips to help you get the most out of your search.
Learn where the garage sales are and what time they start. Some garage sales will start earlier than others, so you can hit them up before the other ones begin. And if you plan a route you’ll do less back and forth driving.
Especially if you’re looking for a big item like a table or dresser. You’ll need a measuring tape to figure out if the furniture will even fit in your space. You’ll also want blankets to keep the furniture from getting damaged and rope or bungee cords to hold it down.
If you’re like me (or you have kids) and get grumpy and impatient when you’re hungry, snacks are a must. I always bring more than I need, and like to pack granola bars with nuts, an apple or dried fruit, a little bit of chocolate, and a couple water bottles.
Getting a great deal on something may mean that when you take it home you need to put in a little elbow grease and some DIY. Don’t let that scare you. Sometimes all things need is a new coat of paint or something small to fix it up.
