Happy April Fool’s Day!
Although not a national holiday (we all still have to work today!) every year people celebrate April 1st by pulling pranks and spreading hoax rumours, yelling “April Fools!” at the person caught in the gag. According to Wikipedia, there is no known source to when this tradition began and why. I suppose it’s just a day to let loose and have some fun!
April fools jokes can range from silly shenanigans to outright embarrassing moments for the person who falls for the joke. Growing up we would pull silly pranks like switching the sugar for salt or “made you look” type jokes with our friends. Over the years digital media has jumped on the bandwagon with jokes like false news reports, silly sales of products you wouldn’t find from your favourite brand and “closing forever” type posts. They can really get your heart racing until you realize the date on your calendar. All in good fun of course!
A word of the wise: Don’t believe everything you see or hear today, it’s April fool’s Day!
