Spring is here and joy is in the air. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing and kids are out laughing and playing. And all this means that a spring tradition is just around the corner: McHappy Day!
Every year on McHappy Day, McDonald’s donates $1 from every Big Mac, Happy Meal or beverage to Ronald McDonald House Charities and other children’s charities across Canada. This incredible initiative helps provide support and care for children in need.
Ronald McDonald House is a charity that provides support for children when they need it the most: when they are diagnosed with a serious illness or injury. When this type of diagnosis is received, the world doesn’t stop. There are still bills to pay, jobs to hold, and other children to care for.
Ronald McDonald House has stepped up to make things easier during this hard time and give children and their families a place to stay at a nearby hospital so that everyone can be close together.
The most important thing in the world is healing that sick child or treasuring final moments, and through McHappy Day, that is made easier. So go and buy yourself a Happy Meal, a Big Mac or even just a drink, and help keep a sick child close to their family.
On McHappy Day, one dollar from every Big Mac®, Happy Meal® and McCafe® beverage will be donated to Ronald McDonald House locations across Canada. When you donate, you will get a fun pair of McHappy Day Hero Socks! Here’s a photo of mine. Why are they called hero socks? Because when you purchase a Big Mac, Happy Meal, or McCafe beverage, you’re helping families in 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada be close to their loved ones as they go through terrifying treatments.
McHappy Day is on May 4th, 2016.
McHappy Day is at McDonald’s restaurants all over Canada. There’s no need to RSVP; just show up and make your usual purchase, and watch your money do the work.
If you want to get social, just share your moment using #McHappyDay.
