The end of summer means that it is time to get the cottage ready for fall. It was time to get some new equipment for our chores so we headed into Canadian Tire to get some tools to help us out.
We really needed a new hose and nozzle. It think we were using the cottage originals and it was finally time for an upgrade. We picked up the Yardworks All-Weather Polyurethane Hose. We also picked up a Yardworks Dry Seal 10-Pattern Thumb Control Watering Nozzle. Because we only have one outdoor faucet, my garden host is often pulled to both the front and back of the cottage, so it goes through a lot of use.

You can’t feel how light this nozzle is, but it really is comfortable, and of course, comes with multiple options from jet to sprace, so you can adjust the water pressure based on what you are watering.
I thought I would treat myself to this great Yardworks Colour Aluminum Garden Tool Set, Assorted, 3-pc. I love to garden so I picked up this set. It matches my hose and other products as well. What I love about the bright handles is that you can easily spot them in the garden. There’s nothing worse than losing your garden tools – or worse, accidentally stepping on one.
We needed a new rake, and decided to purchase this Yardworks Clog Free Rake. It features a 24″ (61 cm) polyethylene head with unique clog free tines that prevent leaves from building up. It is made with a premium ash handle, with elongated comfort grip that reduces strain and fatigue, something required for my teen aged son. The best part of this rake (aside from the fact that its super lightweight) is that it is super wide. You can collect a lot of leaves each pass. And that is good news, because I love it when I can do my garden chores more quickly.
If you have a cottage, then you need to have at least one pair of loppers. One for regular stuff and one for the hardcore stuff. When you have more than one pair then two can work making it twice as fast! We purchased the Yardworks Colour Lopper that features a carbon steel blade with a heat treatment for superior cuts.
My husband picked up the Yardworks Gel Grip Anvil Lopper that feature carbon steel blades with non-stick coating for cutting hard branches.
We also picked up some other goodies you can read about on my other post.
